It all started with a mom who had to poop…

About the Book

Sitting on the couch reading to my newborn daughter, I stopped mid-page when I realized two things:

  1. My baby was not following the story whatsoever,

  2. I had to poop.

Overwhelmed by the “must-dos” of raising a baby, it felt like there was no time left in the day for mama to go poop!

Mom Has to Poop is the book I wish I had back then: a collection of positive affirmations for new moms, featuring beautiful artwork babies and adults will love.

The moral of the story? Everyone needs to eat, sleep, poop, and feel supported - whether they’re an itty-bitty newborn or a kick-ass mother.

Mom Has to Poop was written, illustrated, designed, and printed in Canada.

About Alexandra Kasper

I am a mom to a baby and two cats. I love cheese and camping, hate chocolate and cooking, and enjoy singing action songs a bit too much. I am married to a wonderful and supportive husband, Chapin (who thankfully loves to cook). We recently moved back home to Ontario after 5 years in British Columbia.

I am also a trained physicist and completed my M.Sc. in theoretical biophysics before studying educational technology during my M.Ed. I love designing learning experiences for others, especially young women exploring STEM.

My daughter, Lilly, was born in June 2020 and I have been trying to navigate being a parent during the pandemic ever since. Mom Has to Poop is written as much for me as it is for other new moms as I still struggle to remind myself that I really am doing a great job.
